Hasan Elahi lives in New York since 1979. He is a multidisciplinary artist who investigates especially the relation between the technology, the medium of communication and their social impacts. His centres of interest include the problems of surveillance, the simulated time, the systems of transport and the frontiers. He exhibited in the United States, Great Britain, France, Indonesia, Senegal, Japan, south Africa and China. He studied media and art at Cranbrook Academy of Art. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at the Rutgers University in New Jersey.
He obtained numerous prizes, the last ones being “Outstanding Research Award”, University of South Florida (2003), and the “Arts & Engineering Collaborative Grant”, University of South Florida (2003).
